Amble Over
Literally no expense has been spared! This wonderful hideaway in its own garden of Eden has undergone some beautiful refurbishments, and all of the works, fittings, and final touches are absolutely top shelf, simply no question. Great forethought and care has been taken, to ensure that no guest shall ever, be left on the spot with a small emergency, mishap, or embarrassment due to plain forgetfulness… literally everything you could ever think of have been addressed, and secreted away in all of the appropriate places, like you would do in your own home. Breakfast!!! Continental breakfasts have been done to death, haven’t they? Well, let me tell you something… A knock on the door in the afternoon, two very large platters… sliced watermelon, fresh berries, yoghurt, fresh cream, fresh whole fruit, croissants, fresh loaf of bread, eggs, large and varied choice of cereals (not those little boxes either!) and the list goes on! Plenty of fresh milk (in a milk bottle!) and chocolates. Massive, and a truly well appointed kitchen, with lot’s, and I mean LOT’S of bench space. ALL the appliances are new, top shelf, and sparkling clean. Every conceivable pot, pan, appliance, and utensil ever known to man lives here. I felt truly spoilt whilst here… This was an extra night we’d grabbed, while on the way back home form the Barossa, and what a wonderful finalé to our week away! Oh… and the ‘coup de foudre ‘was to wake up next morning, with the curtains open, and to lay there, watching all manner of cockatoo’s, galah’s and parrots peacefully waiting for their morning feed, preening each other, whilst perched on your balcony railing… is nothing short of pure gold….

Amble Fern
Had been meaning to treat my mum to a short break for a long time, both she and I love the Adelaide hills as a change as we both live on the coast in different locations. We booked 2 nights in the Amble Fern cottage and wow we really lucked out! Not only was the property just gorgeous with all the trees and wildlife which is everything you can hope for staying in that beautiful little village but its really well situated just off the main stretch so its only a short stroll to everything but with the advantage of also being quiet enough to feel like you are fairly away from it all if that's what you are looking for. The whole property is beautifully kept inside and outside. Inside you could be forgiven into thinking you were the first to have stayed as it is super clean and the appliances, gadgets and décor is tasteful, sharp and extremely contemporary! Actually I think it is all fairly new now I think about it, I have to say everything right down to the towels to the toilet paper is of very good quality and doesn't that just make all the difference? When it comes to comfort everything has been thought of! During our time there and on arrival, were warmly welcomed and shown around by Vanessa one of the proprietor's who is a wealth of knowledge on the area and quite a few other subjects of interest and an absolute treasure as well as a genuinely kind person who has put so much thought into accommodating almost everyone from all different dietary preferences and requirements and if by chance she has missed something (which I highly doubt!) you would I'm sure only need say the word and she would do her very best to help you work something out! We were so relaxed by the morning of departure that even my mother slept through our alarm and were late for check out much to my mothers horror which to this day I cannot recall happening since I was a little girl at school! Vanessa only tried waking us after 11.30am when she thought it was a little odd considering we were up earlier the previous day! I cant say enough to praise this woman! The little touches, the salon shampoo and conditioner, the mud facial masks and makeup wipes (forgot mine! Clearly she's seen it all and knows her clientele well!) The bird seed to feed the many varieties of parrots you can enjoy while you eat a meal or simply relax outside, the vase should you wish to pick flowers for your room from the gardens, electric blankets for us city slickers, cheeky choccie for those who think they will say no but later decide a mini cherry ripe is just what they need after dinner while snuggling on the couch for Netflix and chillaxing. This business is loved and cared about AND it shows! Do yourself a favour and book direct with these guys on their website for a discount. I foolishly used one of the big online web names only to find they are actually owned and run by a company in Europe somewhere I think. I was very disappointed I hadn't done my homework a little better and let the buck stop here in our own back yard. Look forward to having an excuse to spa and sleep past my alarm again! Thanks for having us!

Amble Wren
A beautiful stay in a beautiful location. Amble Wren is a cosy cottage, perfect for a solo or couple stay. The room was well appointed, with a lovely comfortable bed and excellent heating (which came in handy, as Hahndorf had an unseasonably cold snap while I was there!) The gardens and outlook are gorgeous, and all the birds coming down for their morning and afternoon feeds are just lovely. All the little extras provided in the cottage are what separates it from the rest, from the 4 varieties of tea and the fresh local milk, to the plentiful supply of towels and bathroom amenities. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to others, and hope to be back again myself sometime soon.

Lovely relaxing night away.
If you want to feel a wonderful Aussie experience away from the city, watch the bird life and enjoy some quiet time, this is your place. We loved it and Vanessa was so welcoming. Nice extra details especially the rugs if you want to sit outside late or early to enjoy the wonderful location

You really have put your heart and soul into this beautiful home away from home, and you really have thought of everything. We enjoyed the locality of your residences. Also, the heating was amazing as was the top up of our yummy hot chocolates. My partner enjoyed spending his surprise birthday long weekend here!
Once again, Thank you!

Amble Over
We landed early in Adelaide today and Vanessa had taken the trouble of making up our room so that we could shower and unpack before going to Mount Barker to surprise my sister who I haven't seen for 14 years. It is a Sunday and check-in was supposed to be after 2pm, but nothing was too much trouble and we got the lovely upstairs room with balconies which have panoramic views of the lovely countryside, the Alpacka's and the gorgeous birds which pop up to the balcony. A lovely and relaxing place to stay, we have been made to feel very welcome indeed.

We had a wonderful stay. Our accommodation was perfect - fully stocked kitchen (I cooked Christmas dinner), light, bright and comfy interior with beautiful views from the balconies. Inside, a luxurious king-sized bed, plenty of storage, high attention to detail with everything you may need and outside, a lush, tranquil front garden for quiet moments. Hahndorf itself is just perfect - as advertised and we loved our time in Hahndorf and wish we could have extended our stay at the equally perfect Amble at Hahndorf. Highly recommend. We will be planning another stay.
A Magical Weekend, thanks Vanessa & Jamie! <3

Relaxing and wonderful stay at Amble over. Very peaceful settings yet still only a very short walk to main street. Perfect location. Very clean and well stocked kitchen. Greeted by lovely owner who was very helpful and friendly. Exceeded our expectations and hopefully get a chance to return. Only negative was we only stayed 2 nights...a few more would of been ideal.
